Behaviour Support Practitioner - Counsellor
Alison brings decades of experience working with children, adults, couples and families across the lifespan. She brings a diverse skill set and range of expertise, holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Counselling, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is currently completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution. Alison has come to Behaviour Support from a background in disability, community services and operational leadership, which has seen her lead diverse teams with a focus on practice governance and the delivery of quality care.
Alison's practice approach is built on a person-centred philosophy, offering support that addresses the unique needs of each client within their support system. She fosters an inclusive and empathetic environment, creating meaningful connections with clients from all walks of life. She is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals while educating and equipping support teams and families to deliver compassionate and quality care whilst achieving positive outcomes and reducing the need for restrictive practices.
Alison has completed extensive training in Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Team Teach, Neurodivergent affirming practice, Circle of Security Parenting and Domestic and Family Violence equipping her to provide highly individualised support tailored to each client.Â
