Rachael Grey-Richards
Behaviour Support Practitioner
Rachael Grey-Richards is a compassionate Behavioural Support Practitioner with a strong foundation in mental health and trauma-informed care. Her career began in nursing, where she developed a deep understanding of the physiological and emotional aspects of health, which naturally led her to a focus on mental health and behavioural support. Over time, Rachael’s desire to make a meaningful difference led her into leadership roles within child protection services, where she had the privilege of working directly with vulnerable youth and their families, providing crucial mentorship during times of crisis. This experience helped her develop a holistic understanding of the complex interplay between mental, emotional, and physiological health.
Rachael works with individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including suicidal ideation, self-sabotaging behaviours, defiance, and post-pregnancy PTSD. She believes that our behaviours and mental health are deeply connected to our past experiences, physiological responses, and the way our bodies process trauma. Drawing from this understanding, Rachael uses a person-centred, evidence-based approach to create tailored support plans that address the unique needs of each individual. Her aim is not just to help clients manage symptoms, but to promote long-term healing by helping them reconnect with their bodies, regulate their emotions, and rebuild their sense of self-worth.
Rachael is fluent in Tactile Sign Language, enabling her to communicate with individuals who are deafblind or have limited vision, ensuring that her therapeutic support is inclusive, accessible, and considerate of all forms of communication.
